Enter the Octopus

“Stay and I Will Love Thee”

Ken Wong’s “Stay and I Will Love Thee.” I think I’ll probably order a print for my lair.

One day I’m going to have to show you some of my octopus collection.

  1. Ooo! I discovered Ken Wong earlier in the year; I remember that one.

I, too, have a longtime love of octopi (I tend to say “octopuses” even though I know it’s wrong). Would love to see your collection!

  2. Elizabeth, I can’t resist pointing out that your instincts are actually correct in this case -”octopuses” is more correct than “octopi”, insofar as there is such a thing as “correctness” in language.

  3. Yep, both are considered technically correct, although “octopuses” is considered the preferred nomenclature in standard American English. I must admit to a personal and perverse love for the word “octopi,” though.
