No love for Thomas M. Disch from FARK.COM

When I found out Thomas M. DIsch had died I felt obligated to get the word out to his fans. One of the places through which I tried to do so was the great user-news submitted site www.Fark.com. While Fark is largely a place dedicated to making fun of the media and posting silly stories, they’ve got a good record for listing serious news articles as well, including celebrity deaths. That, plus the knowledge that there are lots of SF fans on Fark made it seem a likely place to submit the news about Tom’s death.

I’ve submitted the story each time, and every time the people behind the curtain (Total Fark users who pay a fee for enhanced access) have declined to give the story the greenlight. So, anyway, Farkers, I wanted to let you know that I tried to get the word out, but was blocked. I’m not sure why. Lesser lights than Tom’s have received their due at Fark many, many times. Hopefully you found another place to get the news. I’m still a Fark fan, just confused.
