Mystery of the Cocaine Mummies
While doing some research online I stumbled upon the report that a German scientist found traces of cocaine, THC and nicotine in an Egyptian mummy.
Needless to say, these “Cocaine Mummies” (besides being probably the most kick-ass name for a band I’ve ever heard) are somewhat problematic for researchers: None of those plants grow in the old world. did ancient Africans and ancient Native Americans have some contact thousands of years ago?
Check out a Channel Four documentary here.
Cocaine Mummies would also be an awesome low-budget horror film.

Huhn, and powdered mummy used to be an aphrodisiac IIRC (back in the time we also used them as firewood). Gives a whole new meaning to contact high.

The traces were introduced post-mortem: the mummy’s been partying hard after lights out. It’s Night At The Museum meets Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas.
Somewhere in Germany there’s a coke dealer who spent quite a while translating the hieroglyphs for “I wanna score some blow” It involves one of the usual sideways figures but hunched over with a rolled up piece of papyrus.

Hmmm, that was interesting. Looks like somethings will always remain mystery.
I myself have been trying to solve the mystery of this legend for a while now. Could not understand much though.
Let me know in case you get to understand the mystery of the Old Hound and the Legend
By the way, good writing style. I’d love to read more on similar topics
